To fulfill its mission of being a strong voice for people affected by cancer in order to improve the cancer health system in Quebec, the Quebec Cancer Coalition needs financial support for its activities. Being sensitive to the funding challenges for patient organizations and community groups in Quebec, the Coalition has chosen not to compete with its member organizations for philanthropic donations and fundraising events.
Its revenue comes from the following sources:
• Contributions from member organizations, on an annual basis or for a specific activity;
• individual registrations for the different activities of the Coalition;
• Financial support from the public sector (financial partners);
• Financial support from the private sector (financial partners).
In addition, the Coalition can count on the support of member organizations that choose to contribute either on an hourly basis (human resources), or sharing resources, services or expertise. This is a significant financial contribution.
Finally, the Coalition is concerned with good governance, transparency and avoiding potential conflicts of interest with its financial partners. The board of directors has therefore put in place this conflict of interest & financing policy.
