Clinical trials are available for different types and stages of cancer. Clinical trials are a particularly good option if:

• You have recently been diagnosed with advanced cancer
• You have cancer and are no longer responding to available treatments
• You are in remission but at risk of cancer recurrence
• You have recently been diagnosed with a rare, aggressive or difficult-to-treat cancer.

Participation in clinical trials enables the discovery of new treatments. Today’s cancer drugs and treatments have been evaluated in clinical trials to ensure their efficacy and safety in cancer patients.

People interested in taking part in a clinical trial are informed of the details of the cancer trial so that they can make an informed decision about their participation. Prospective participants are given a printed document called an informed consent form. This provides an overview of the essential elements of the study, including information on treatments, examinations, as well as all benefits, risks and possible side effects.

If you agree to take part in the trial, you will be asked to sign this informed consent form. It’s important to note that even after signing, you still have the option of withdrawing from the trial at any time.
